John Simmons 1766 - c1844

According to family legend, this John Simmons was a descendant of the Plymouth Colony Simmonds line.  Again no definite connection has been established or suggested.  His daughter, Elizabeth, married Daniel Simmons thought to be part of the Simmons line that came directly to NC.

This John Simmons left NC before 1830 along with Isaac Simmons (1786-1864).  DNA matches between the two Simmons lines do NOT suggest that they were father and son, maybe uncle and nephew.  John named one of his sons Isaac (b. 1793).

DNA matches suggest a common ancestor between the two Simmons lines but a definite relationship could not be established.
